Parkour has always been at risk of being co-opted by outside forces. Today, the International Gymnastics Federation is moving forward with having parkour known to the world as a gymnastics discipline, which not only poses a threat to our image, but our cultural dialogue, and anonymity of our discipline and sport. Instead of fighting, let’s build a better parkour than gymnastics could ever offer.
